Eyecare Partners was formed by a group of leading optometrists with the express intention of supporting and growing clinically-driven optometry in Australia. They
recognized that there was a need in the profession for an initiative which facilitates younger optometrists having some form of ownership in the business of optometry, but without the necessity for that ownership to be location specific.

Eyecare Partners has been created to allow portability of ownership as well as other employment entitlements such as holidays, long service, sick leave, etc. It also gives a means of readily being able to change the level of ownership depending
on changing personal circumstances. This also dovetails neatly into a strategy for those optometrists who may be scaling down their professional life.

The business was originally established through the joining of 16 optometry practices to form the basis of the group's growth and acquisition strategy. The group's philosophy has its roots in professional optometry; and its optometrist-led culture will promote maintenance of local management control together with the provision of the benefits that larger corporate resources are able to bring to business.

Eyecare Partners strategy is to grow through the acquisition of optometry practices across Australia which will remain managed by the current owner optometrists on term contracts after the acquisition. We propose the acquisition consideration will always be a mix of cash and shares in Eyecare Partners Limited to ensure a joint interest in the success of the business into the future. The company has created incentive structures and employee share and option plans to further align the interests of shareholders, vendor optometrists and key employees.

Eyecare Partners is the only listed optometry company in Australia and it has created significant opportunities in the industry for both self-employed and employed optometrists. There a significant amount of interest in the venture from participants in the industry and potential vendors are invited to formally register their interest.

Potential practices will be assessed against both quantitative and qualitative criteria; and will take into account business size, location, memberships and business culture.

Eyecare Partners look forward to working with like minded optometrists in this exciting venture. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.
